Because you can’t pour from an empty cup.
At Autism Family Support, we understand the unique joys—and challenges—that come with raising a child with additional needs. Many of our families tell us how emotionally draining it can be to juggle therapy appointments, school concerns, sleepless nights, and the daily worries of “Am I doing enough?”
That’s why we created our Mindfulness and Stress Management for Parents programme—an invitation to pause, breathe, and take care of you.
This isn’t about being perfect. It’s about being present, feeling supported, and giving yourself the same kindness you offer your child.
Our trained facilitators gently guide you through easy, calming mindfulness exercises. You’ll learn how to ground yourself in the moment—especially when things feel overwhelming.
Whether it’s 5 minutes of mindful breathing before a meltdown, or simply learning to notice your own emotions with less judgment, these practices offer parents a much-needed space to breathe.
In our sessions, we explore a variety of relaxation methods that parents can turn to during stressful moments—both at home and on the go. From deep breathing and progressive muscle relaxation to visualisations and gentle stretches, you’ll find tools that help you:
Reduce anxiety and mental clutter
Ease physical tension from stress
Reclaim calm during your busiest days
Many parents have told us these simple practices become their lifeline in moments of chaos.
Mindfulness isn’t just a one-time fix—it’s a practice. And just like our children grow and learn with time and support, so can we.
In a supportive, judgment-free environment, you’ll learn how to weave mindfulness into daily life—even in small, doable ways. Whether it’s learning to reset after a long day, managing emotional fatigue, or simply finding space for gratitude, we help parents build the inner strength to keep going—with more peace and less burnout.
When you’re raising a neurodiverse child, your emotional cup can run empty faster than most. Our mindfulness programme is here to refill it—gently, steadily, and with compassion.
You don’t need to have any experience with meditation or yoga. You don’t have to sit still for hours. This is about you, and creating small moments of care that ripple into everything you do—your patience, your energy, your sleep, your connection with your child.
Because when parents feel calm, strong, and supported, children thrive too.
We invite you to join our Mindfulness and Stress Management sessions—a safe, warm space just for parents. Come as you are. No expectations. No pressure. Just a place to breathe, connect, and feel heard.
