Our Move & Wellbeing sessions are thoughtfully designed to offer women a safe, supportive, and uplifting environment to focus on both mental and physical wellbeing. These weekly sessions are part of Autism Family Support’s ongoing commitment to empowering families and communities through accessible, inclusive, and health-focused programmes.
Every session blends gentle yoga, light exercise, mindfulness, and relaxation techniques that help participants reconnect with themselves, relieve stress, and build confidence. Whether you’re a complete beginner or someone with previous yoga or fitness experience, these sessions are easy to follow and adapted for all abilities.
Each session follows a calm and structured flow designed to support relaxation, movement, and connection:
🌸 1. Gentle Warm-Up & Mindful Breathing
We begin each class with breathing techniques that promote mindfulness and help calm the nervous system. This helps participants release tension and prepare the body and mind for movement.
🌼 2. Light Yoga & Stretching
The yoga segment focuses on slow, controlled movements to improve flexibility, posture, and balance. Each exercise is guided with care, allowing participants to move at their own pace in a supportive setting.
🌺 3. Wellbeing & Mental Health Focus
Alongside physical activity, we include mindfulness exercises and relaxation methods designed to improve mental wellbeing. These may include guided visualisations, positive affirmations, or short reflection activities that encourage self-care and emotional awareness.
🌻 4. Group Connection & Empowerment
Our sessions are also about connection and community. Women are encouraged to share experiences, celebrate progress, and support each other. It’s a space to laugh, relax, and recharge — free from judgement or pressure.
🍃 5. Calm Cool-Down & Reflection
Each session ends with gentle stretching, relaxation music, and deep breathing, helping everyone leave refreshed and re-energised for the day ahead.
